Herbal Therapy

TCM Herbal Therapy

Herbal Therapy is one of the pillars of Traditional Chinese Medicine. While thousands of medicinal substances have been used in China for millennia, about 600 herbs are now commonly used for TCM Herbal Therapy. Herbs are available as patent formulas at Lavender House Acupuncture & Wellness Clinic.

Herbal therapy seeks to restore the flow of qi by influencing yin and yang with different dosage combinations. Herbs are generally divided into two groups: energy and taste. Herbs in the energy group are classified as hot, warm, cold, neutral, and aromatic; herbs in the taste group can be sour, bitter, sweet, spicy, or salty.

Both the combination of energies and tastes, as well as the dosage, provide a huge spectrum of possible prescriptions. At Lavender House, we have patent formulas from Golden Flower Chinese Herbs available in our dispensary to address the health issues of our clients. Golden Flower Chinese Herbs offers patent formulas from high-quality bulk herbs. They pride themselves in offering optimally concentrated formulas.

Western Herbal Therapy

Coming this fall!

Plant medicine has been with us since the beginning. What, at first glance, looks like a new trend in medicine is actually an awakening of knowledge that humans have been dependent on for thousands of years. There is a special relationship with our natural world that reminds us that we are part of the whole and that we depend on plants for the optimization, maintenance, and treatment of our health. In recent culture, humans have often dismissed the healing power of plants and instead has regarded the natural world as something to be exploited for material gain and not for personal wellness. This modern shift in perspective has resulted in us treating the planet as if it depends on us, but in reality we depend on it.

Reconnecting with western herbs allows us space to reconnect with the land that we live on. Many of the western herbs that are available at Lavender House can be grown locally in your own backyard/community garden. This familiarity often resonates with people on a deeper level.

Common ailments that can be treated at Lavender House using western herbs includes, but is not limited to:

  • Indigestion
  • Heartburn
  • Constipation/Diarrhea
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Compromised Immunity
  • Common Colds/Flu
  • Hay Fever

  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Tension Headaches
  • Soft Tissue Injuries
  • Joint and Muscle Pain

Of course this list is not exhaustive, but rather a short list that shows the tremendous scope of Western Herbal Therapy. You can always contact me for more information, or to find out if Herbal Therapy is right for you.
