The Flow of the Season – Summer

Summer is here and it’s the best time to get outside and walk in rhythm with the flow of the season. Summer is a time for fostering healthy relationships and surrounding ourselves with people. It’s all about the joy that our relationships bring. Whether it be with a loved one, family, or friends – now is the time to enjoy the company of others (within provincial Covid guidelines). Soak up the sun, have BBQs, and remember to play and laugh.

Energetically, it’s also the best season to have our goals for the year come to fruition. All of those things that we said we wanted to do or try can now be experienced, so go for it! Do the things you love and try the things you’ve always wanted to try.

This is also the time of year when eating raw food can be of benefit to help cool us down. Make beautifully colourful salads and eat all the fresh fruit you can get your hands on while it lasts. On those really hot days, you can cool yourself down by making an iced tea with one (or a combo) of the following herbs: lemongrass, hibiscus, and/or peppermint.

You can mix and match to your taste. I have been really enjoying these two teas from the Silk Road Tea Store in Victoria. If you don’t live in Victoria, you can order online.

Caffeinated: – Quench Wellness tea: white and green tea leaves, hibiscus, lemongrass, chamomile, natural cherry extract

Decaf: – Philosopher’s Brew Herbal tea: lemongrass, citrus peel, rosehips, lavender blossoms

Whatever this summer brings for you let it be joyful.
